Swimsuit Season

This is week 6 of doing the Revolt Now! Fitness. I'm actually up a couple of pounds, but am telling myself it's muscle:) To be perfectly honest, I haven't been following the meal plans very well (i.e. at all). But I have still been eating a healthy, whole, mostly plant based diet, so I'm not too worried about it. The biggest changes I have seen so far are:
-Bigger biceps. I wouldn't say it's time for a gunshow, but there is definitely some serious muscle developing!
-Tighter thighs and butt. That's a big plus!
-Slimmer waist.

A big reason for wanting to get in shape is so that I look good in a swimsuit. In January my sister is tying the know in Jamaica, and there will be plenty of beach time. There will be also plenty of pictures being taken, and I really want to be able to look back at these pictures and be happy with the way I look! I haven't been in a swimsuit since having Brooks, and probably only a handful of times since having Lincoln, 5 years ago! And then I opted for a retro style one piece to help conceal the parts that were loosey goosey from childbirth.

But I am a little confused about some of the current swimsuit styles.

What do you think about all the new printed suits?
Black Milk Clothing is kinda cornering the market on the weirdest swimsuits...you should definitely go take a look.
$300 and SOLD OUT!!

Cut outs?
Holy tan lines!

The REALLY high waisted swimsuits?

High waisted AND printed?? I can't. I won't.
What styles are you loving for swimsuit season?? I think I will stick to the standard 2 piece...show a little of the goods, but not TOO much.

Life has been INSANE...but I'm still REVOLTING!

Hope everyone had a terrific Mother's Day!!
Remember when I said I was going to blog everyday in May?
I was clearly kidding.
I have been CRAZY busy the past couple of weeks!
The shop has been super busy, and I have been working overtime getting ready for Brooks first birthday party.
I can't believe my baby boy will be 1 on Wednesday...where has the time gone??
But I'm really looking forward to the party, and can't wait to share all the details of his Yo Gabba Gabba party. And while I've got big plans for all the snacks we will have, I am going to have to try REALLY hard to not eat everything in sight, since I'm still working hard to keep up with the Revolt Fitness program.
Although I haven't lost any weight in the 2 weeks since I started, I can definitely see my body becoming more toned, which was my goal.
I've lost 2.5" off my waist and 2" of my thighs. So that rocks!
And that was even with eating one of these:
Why would someone doing a fitness program decide that they should make caramel apples for her son's teachers on Teachers Appreciation Day? And why would said person make 2 extra (reasoning that should one turn out badly, she needed extras)? You can't just leave 2 extra caramel apples in the fridge. They MUST be eaten.

And lastly, the winner of the GOYA Foods cookbook and ingredients giveaway is...
Betty Dennis!!
Thanks to everyone who entered!

Revolting Against My Mom Body: Week 1

I am not a fan of working out. I don't enjoy physical fitness, the sweating, all the moving around. Boo.
But what I am a fan of is eating well, and clean eating is what helped me to not gain an insane amount of weight when I was pregnant, and to lose the weight that I did gain really quickly after having Brooks.
But now here I am almost a year later, and my body just doesn't look like MY body (I guess 2 kids will do that).
While my scale my say "You're good." My hips (and stomach and thighs and ass) don't lie. It's not all good. I have a serious case of mom stomach happening, and it's no good. It's a serious epidemic! While fully clothed I can easily trick people into thinking everything is under control under my clothes. But take them layers off, and it's a loosey goosey mess. Everything just needs to tighten, you know?
So while just the idea of a workout plan makes me want to crawl back in bed and hide under the covers, today I am starting Revolt.
Revolt was born out of Nichole Huntsman's own struggles with weight loss. After 10 years of experimenting, competing on stage and earning her certification as a NASM, CPT, she's now sharing the fat-blasting shortcuts she's come to love. Let her help guide you on your journey with a turn-key system that takes all the guesswork out of fitness. Includes a Quick-Start Guide, the current 6-week workout plan, a daily workout video of the day's workout, the current 6-week diet, and a community of people all working the program together. It's time to reclaim your body, and say NO to living life as a BEFORE.
I'm not posting any before pictures, because I prefer to only have flattering photos of myself on the internet. And let's face it. A picture of me with a self described mom stomach, standing in a too small bikini, looking like a sad sack, is NOT flattering. But props to all those that can do it, you've got way more guts than me!
So here's me being a total pansy by sharing a fully dressed photo of myself. I tend to wear a lot of loose, long tops to keep things under wraps:)
My current stats:
Weight: 130lb
Body Fat: 26.51%
Waist: 33"
Hips: 38"
Thighs: 21"
Chest: 35"

We were suposed to start the first week with a detox, but due to some confusion, I didn't realize this until after I bought the groceries for the meal plan. So I had Spinach Quiche Bites and some grapefruit for breakfast. I haven't done the workout yet because I probably won't be able to move after, and I wanted to type this out before I fall into a workout induced coma.
I'm hoping to not really lose weight, but to just tighten up all the areas that have started to sag:)
So wish me luck on this 6 week journey to a fiter me!
