I love sleep. My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know? -Ernest Hemmingway

I haven't been sleeping much lately.
Between Brooks spitting his paci out, then immediately realizing he urgently wants it back, and Lincoln thinking that 1, 3, and 5 am are the best times to ask the days most important questions,
I'm averaging about 4.5 hours a night.
You know whats worse than having the piss scared out of you by waking up to find a 4 year old staring at you in the dark?
That 4 year old wanting to discuss, at depth, what happens if you mix milk and water together.
The fuck? This isn't science class and I'm not Bill Nye,
GO BACK TO SLEEP!!
But seeing the love these 2 have for each other is almost...ALMOST...worth being awake for.
Just kidding, I'd pick the sleep any day.

A new dawn, a new day, a new year, a new me!

Happy 2013!
But for serious, where did 2012 go??
Like I blinked and missed the whole thing.
It was a pretty good year, as far as years go.

We added a new little chunk to our family.

Our biggest little turned 4, and is like a legit person now.

We expanded our online business, and realized that our part time craft business could possibly, maybe, really be a full time business.

Which leads me to why 2013 is going to be the best, weirdest, most stressful but wonderful year.
Because I. Quit. My. Day Job!

Are you excited, because I'm super excited. But nervous. Sometimes when I think about it I want to throw up.

But I did it. I turned in my letter of resignation, and said see ya later, bitches! But not really, because I'm nice. So I told them I'll stay till they find a replacement for me (impossible, I know).
But the feeling of knowing that in a matter of weeks I will be out of the office and home, with my littlest little, focusing on the things that I love, is ah-mah-zing.

So fingers crossed that I
a) actually like/can handle being a work at home mom. I've never cussed out a baby, but then again I've never spent every waking minute with one, so....

b) Can actually pull this off. I mean, what if it was a fluke? What if everyone stops buying our stuff, and then we are poor, and then we have to sell our pets and possibly one (or more) of our children just to pay our bills?

Just kidding.

I'm dreaming big here people!! And in celebration:

So Sweet...

I got a Baby Bullet for Christmas last year, and have been waiting patiently for my little man to be old enough so I could puree the shit out of anything/everything.
That time has come.
Well, so far I've only pureed sweet potatoes, but soon enough I will be trowing all kinds of random stuff into this bad boy. And just look how happy he is about it:
Brooks, on the other hand, is a little skeptical. He's like "WTF is that guy all pumped about?? It's JUST sweet potatoes." Even so, he ate the WHOLE thing. I mean, look at those chubby cheeks...does he look like he's turning down food? No ma'am..
And just as a side note, I love this kid:
LOOK at that face!! I just want to eat him up.

Vampire Pirates

Asked Lincoln what he wants to be when he grows up.
His answer? Vampire pirate. Obviously.

Special Delivery

It's been an epicly long time since I have so much as glanced at blogger.
I've thought about it, like "man, that would make an awesome blog post," but then something happens, and life gets in the way.
Or I fall asleep, that's been happening a lot lately.
Good excuse: I had a baby!
Yes, it's been 2 months ago now, but better late than never, right??
On May 15th, at around 2am, we welcomed Brooks Avery Martin into our lives.
And he came out with a bang! Not literally, that would be weird.
But apparently he was ready, and couldn't wait.
I was having contractions.
Serious ones.
Ones that made me yell thanks like "fuck" and "oh shit!"
Then my water broke, and nurses started running around all crazy.
And then a baby was born.
Just.
Like.
That.
My doctor wasn't there.
I got no epidural.
But he's here. He's healthy.
He's amazing.
Lincoln's obsessed, and we are all more than a little sad that
Brooks is in daycare now since I'm back at work:(

And here's an ungodly amount of photos to get you all caught up on the past 2 months since baby boy was born:
