Working Moms + CSN Stores Giveaway-For the little devil in all of us!**CLOSED**

Finally getting caught up here at work! It's so not even worth it to take a day off, because nothing gets done when I'm not here, so I come back to a disaster that takes 2 days to clear up!

With Lincoln being sick last week I had to miss a day and a half of work, and my boss is pissed about it. I can understand that its frustrating to have an employee miss work, but I really don't understand what I'm supposed to do. I usually take off instead of Richard because his job provides our health insurance, and we'd rather not risk losing that! And of course my daycare won't keep him with a temperature higher than 100, and we don't have a lot of family close by, and the ones that are here work as well. I get 1 weeks vacation a year, and no sick days, so it really does cut into my pay to have to miss, but what are my options?
What do you mommas do when your kids are sick??

With my boss being a prick, I'm feeling like being a little bitchy in return, so I have the perfect giveaway in honor of that!

I have this LumiSource Diablo Alter Egos Lamp in Lincoln's room as a night light, but it might be better suited for me and my current mood!!
It's from CSN Stores, which, as I'm sure you've heard, has over 200 online stores, offering everything from kitchen tables to doggie beds and exercise equipment. You could spend weeks, and A LOT of money,  perusing their sites. So go look for yourself, and come back here to enter to win your very own Diablo Alter Egos Lamp.

Hi Tia, Thanks for the big welcome over at MBC. I think all bosses who don't understand sick kid days should be relegated to watching a child with a stomach flu for a week. I'm sure they'd change their mind.

Love your blog header by the way!

Your boss sounds like a man. An idiot, and a man. My daughter's daycare has the same policy, but I'm lucky in that I don't have issues with work and taking off when I need to.

you know what i freaking hate about this is how we FEAR with our lives about our kids getting sick!!! how when we wake up to find them ill instead of having compassion and motherly overload of love we have frustration and annoyance...that is SO not fair to our kids!! i truly truly hate this!

i too would be cranky!! and i think that lamp is adorable and perfect! so funny!!!

oh man. my sis has kids and she says everybody gives her the stink eye if/when she has miss work to take care of them. i don't think bosses every really get it -- until they have kids. and then they probably still don't get it!

Love the lamp, it's tres cool. Sorry boss is a dork. Does he have kids? Probably not or he would be more understanding. If he does, I feel sorry for his wife. Oh well, kiddos come first if you have your priorities right (esp. sick ones) and there is nothing you can do about that. The best employees are the ones who are HAPPY and treated like adults. They end up giving way more back because boss understands family emergencies and treats them with respect. Nuff said.

I'm fortunate enough to have a boss who doesn't stress when I need to be away from work. For the most part, I'm able to work from home when absolutely necessary. It's our clients who get a bit miffed, but what can you do? For the amount of overtime I spend working on things, often without being asked, I'd tell them to shove it if they ever said anything. ;)

I would love to have some new way of organizing my kids junk, I mean, toys. Something like the Little Colorado Storage Cubby would do the trick.
