Lets give em something to blog about...

So here's a little back story on me (Not that any one asked, or anything. I just felt like sharing). On Valentines Day, in 2007, my boyfriend took me on a surprise trip to Nashville to see a Bon Jovi concert. Don't make fun, I love me some Bon Jovi. And to make it even better, he sang "My Funny Valentine"(Bon Jovi, not my boyfriend. He's a terrible singer).
So Jon rocked it, then my boyfriend tells me he wants to take me one more place. I'm exhausted from shakin my groove thing, and really just want to get back to the comfy hotel bed, but he insist. He takes me to Nashville's exact replica of the Parthenon, which is AMAZING!!
And to my utter shock and surprise, he gets down on one knee and pops the big question!!

He presents me with a BEAUTIFUL ring, and I of course say YES!! Yay!! It was a total surprise, mainly because we had always discussed how we wanted to wait till we were both out of college to get married.

I was graduating that May, so we decided we would wait and get married the following summer, in 2008. After graduation, I started planning the wedding.
We knew we didn't want a church wedding, and that we wanted it to be outdoors. After months of frustration, I decided I was just NOT good at wedding planning! So we decided to go away, to St. Lucia, and have a beautiful destination wedding. We picked the Sandals resort, and discussed it with our families and friends.
Of course we knew everyone wouldn't be able to come, but we wanted this to be about us, not everyone else. And we wanted this...
Selfish, I know. So we met with our travel agent, picked the date, and made the arrangements. Well wouldn't you know that in the midst of all this wedding planning, my birth control decided that it wasn't going to do its job. I got pregnant. And my due date was 1 week after my dream wedding was scheduled. I thought about going through with the wedding as planned...
But decided I wouldn't be able to live with myself if this is how people remembered my wedding day.
Seriously???
So we did the next logical thing, and had a romantic courthouse wedding. On the day after Christmas.
And not because we have some preconceived notion that you have to be married in order to have a child, but because I needed the insurance!! So romantic, right? So anyways, this is a long story to get to my point, which is that I never got around to changing my name!
So yesterday I sucked it up, and went to spend my afternoon chillin at the Social Security office. 45 minutes later I became Mrs. Martin!! My husband has been bugging me about this since the day we got married, and I have been putting it since then. So when I tell him I'm finally going to become the Mrs., he says "Well at least it'll give you something to blog about"!
