I am SO ready for this long weekend to get started already!! This week is moving at a fucking snails pace, made only slower by the fact that I have had a shit ton of resumes to wade through in my search for a new assistant. I know that there are a lot of people out of work, and that they are literally applying for every job, but some of it's just ridiculous. Here are some of this weeks highlights:
Is it really prudent that your resume feature that 1 semester you spent at college? In 1980?
Call me old fashioned, but I believe that when applying for a job, one should use actual English.
Its so great when you can download pre-made resume templates, but such a hassle to have to remember to put in your information.
You would have to see the ad to now whats wrong with, so let me help. The job listing is for a part-time assistant, 2 days during the week, and every Saturday. And it's about an hour and a half from Vincennes...so probably not the right area.
Oh, me too!! Unfortunately, this is an office assistant position.
props.
This is the email I recieved. In its entirity. There is no name. No phone number. No nothing. And I really wanted to hire this one...
So the search continues...

OH MY GOD. girl, i feel for you.
years ago i worked in hr, and i saw ZILLIONS of resumes. and i had to pick through them and figure out who was worthy for an interview. it was pretty much excruciating.
my favorite moron was some lady applying for a pr job. she said she was an expert in "pubic relations". i DIED at that. i ran around showing everyone and telling everyone about it. it is a good thing i am no longer in hr! although i'd have lot more to blog about! LOL
and hope you have a fab long weekend! it can't get here soon enough, eh? :)
I hate to say it, but you ain't seen nothin' yet...
